The view from our front yard in Autumn: The Sandia Mountains. They light up bright orange during sunsets.

This is a cholla (choya) cactus in our front yard. Yes, It snows in the desert.

Balloon Festival, the largest in the world. It happens the first week every October.

This is my hubby Ralph watching the balloons from our backyard.
OUR PETS
Herman, our Cardigan Corgi. He had his back fused and has had knee ligaments replaced, but boy does he love to hike. Oliver. My husband found him starving outside an Italian Restaurant and lured him with a shrimp. He was so small he fit into my pocket for weeks. Now he weighs eighteen pounds and walks with a swagger.
Little guy. He came from the pound and is a real hockey player. He has an immense furry black tail that that he can wrap around himself. Mr. McCoy. Despite that he's ten years old and blind in one eye, my hubby insisted we adopt him. He is very loving, follows us everywhere, and sings beautifullly.

We love hiking and travelling. Here's a few highlights from our recent adventures:
Deep in the bowels of Carlsbad Caverns . We walked to the bottom and our calves eventually forgave us. They are spectacular. Bandalier Indian Cliff Dwellings, up near Los Alamos. The cliffs are made of "tuff" and are easily dug into.

San Antonio Creek in the Jemez Mountains, a lovely and easy trail to hike. You can see Herman if you look closely. He loves wading in streams. Franz Joseph Glacier in New Zealand, 2004. It shrunk a mile or so since we previously visited.
My very own shot of a sperm whale diving. And we had spectacular schools of dolphins.
